Last week my Worldbuilding class had the treat of a guest speaker — Jeff Grubb. He’s one of the grandmasters of tabletop roleplaying, and a prolific author. I was pretty excited that he agreed to come down to talk, as I’ve been playing his games and worlds for almost thirty years. After a pleasant lunch during the Great Water Boil of 2014, he got to business. At the start he estimated he could talk for about an hour and a half, but he ended up keeping everyone hooked for over three hours.
His range of subjects was wide, from historical anecdotes from the origins of role-playing games, to development practices of his cutting-edge work at ArenaNet. I made over five pages of notes during the presentation, and hell if I know where they went. I’ll track them down soon.
